What are eyelash extensions?

Individual lashes made of synthetic fibers are applied to your own natural lashes, one lash to one lash, using a surgical grade adhesive. As you relax comfortably with your eyes closed, your lash stylist can apply lashes in a variety of lengths, thicknesses and curls to create your desired look. They have a natural elegant look, along with a weightless feel.

Why do I need a consultation?

The consultation is used to create your own personal "eye-dentity". Eyelash extensions come in several different lengths, thicknesses, curls and colours. Once I have reviewed the condition of natural lashes I can then determine which lash extensions will be best suited for you to achieve your desired look.

How do they feel?

Xtreme Lashes® have a natural elegant look and feel absolutely weightless.

Can I swim, exercise or visit a spa?

Yes you can! The specially formulated bonding agent allows you to continue your normal activities worry free. However you should wait 48 hours before you swim or spa to allow adequate bonding time.

Can I apply mascara to my extensions?

One of the biggest advantages of these lashes is that you will not need mascara. But, if you crave even more dramatic eyes then it MUST be a water-based mascara. We recommend Xtreme Lashes® mascara which has been specially formulated for these extensions. Never use oil-based or waterproof mascara as these will dissolve the bonding agent.

Are they safe?

Yes! Our bonding agent is formulated with the same ingredient used in sutureless wound procedures (where adhesive is inserted into an open wound). Lashes are applied very close to, but not touching, your eyelid. They will not harm your natural lashes. But be aware, not all eyelash extensions are the same. Different products or procedures can vary drastically from an Xtreme Lashes® application and some can cause damage to your natural lashes. Always ensure that your stylist is a certified professional.

Why do some eyelash extensions cost more than others?

You may have heard of some places offering eyelash extensions at a much lower price, this is because they are NOT the same service. There are several different products and application techniques available that vary drastically from an Xtreme Lashes® application. Some companies have no personal training and their eyelash extensions can actually damage your natural lashes. Always ensure that your stylist is a certified professional.

How long will they last?

A natural lash typically sheds every 45 to 90 days and is replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. At any given time, each of your natural lashes is at a different stage of its life cycle. Before a natural lash is sturdy enough to support an extension, it must be a few weeks (or more) old. With proper care, your lash extensions will last up to two months or longer with touch ups.

How often should I get touch ups?

Touch ups, or 'relashes', are needed to replace any lashes that have naturally cycled out. If you decide you would like to keep your lashes full all the time, it is recommended that you get touch ups every 2 to 3 weeks. Once you have waited longer than four weeks, 50% of more of your lashes will have shed and possibly a new set may be needed. Generally touch ups visits are short in time and relatively inexpensive.

How do I care for them?

How to prepare for your procedure?

Contact lenses cannot be worn during the procedure. Please do not curl your lashes or wear any mascara. Remember that you cannot wet your new lash extensions for 24 hours so you might want to shower beforehand.
